Not all websites are easy. Some require planning – a lot of planning. Elf Media has experience with creating complex web projects that require planning and intensive research. We want to do all that we can before jumping into a project because we want to ensure the ideal results are achieved.
Before the design or development of your website takes place, we can provide a website planning consultation that will result in a specification document for you to review. This document can be used for a variety of things.
- Entice investors with your web project
- Calculate budget and timeline of the website
- Reduce headaches late on
The website planning process involves a few different phases. We will work with you every step of the way to ensure your needs are met through and through. Our goal is to provide a long-lasting relationship with you and we can only achieve this if we meet your needs from day 1.
Planning is necessary in many cases to avoid web designing from becoming too expensive. We have to be on the same page as you from day one. If we are unable to do so, we may be creating content that isn’t what you need or isn’t what you visualized. We want to streamline the process to avoid wasting time on either side.
Phase 1 – Learning
We need to learn all there is to know about you, your industry and what your goals are. We will analyze your goals to figure out what you are trying to achieve. Your online presence may be able to achieve many of these goals in many different ways.
It will also be necessary to research the industry you are in. This will help us to figure out what direct competitors are offering so you can offer something better and more unique. We will look at online and offline marketing strategies to determine how you should be marketing to reach out to more of your target demographic.
Phase 2 – Planning
We need to prioritize the features that will be on your website and which ones are critical to your success. We will also identify the technical requirements of your website, such as whether it needs to function with ecommerce, have a blog, any interactive aspects or social media platforms.
The architecture of the website will also be planned out. This includes content management systems, database structures and more. The more complex your website is, the more critical this step is to ensure the information is accessible and organized in a way that makes sense to the end user.
Phase 3 – Visualizing
At Elf Media, we will translate all of the ideas into a visual form so you can get a clear idea of what the website will look like and how it will perform before the web development begins. This will give you the opportunity to see our vision and make any changes to it before we place our web designers on the task of creating it for you.
